Sheridans Butchers in Ballater, Aberdeenshire, is owned and run by Barry Florence and John Sinclair. Craft butchers with Royal Warrants, they started their apprenticeships at Sheridans as soon as they left school and had the honour of being bequeathed the business by John Sheridan when he died in 2006. Continuing the tradition, they take on trainees and teach them butchery skills in the hope that they will, in turn, become craft butchers. Their meat and game is locally sourced and they make their own recipe sausages, haggis, black pudding and pies. They pride themselves on constantly developing their skills and diversifying to keep their business flourishing, an approach that has led to numerous awards and an enduring reputation for quality and reliability, both locally and in very exalted circles!!
